Kathmandu. The government is planning to launch the second phase of vaccination campaign by giving priority to diplomatic staff and journalists. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the second phase of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 will be launched from Monday, giving priority to embassies, UN agency staff and journalists.
A total of 181,857 people have been vaccinated in the first phase from Magh 24 to Saturday. The list is prepared on the basis of risk after the first phase of vaccination. Spokesperson at the Ministry of Civil, Teaching, Martyr Ganga Lal in Kathmandu and Patan Hospital in Lalitpur, Dr. Jageshwar Gautam informed.
According to him, journalists working in the Civil Hospital and foreign staff working in the UN agency at Patan Hospital will be vaccinated. Similarly, people working in embassies and diplomatic missions and dependents of foreign staff will be vaccinated at the Teaching Hospital, Maharaganj and Martyr Ganga Lal Hospital, Bansbari.
The government had started the vaccination campaign against corona on Magh 14. In the first phase, health workers, cleaners, security personnel, hearses, health volunteers and others have been vaccinated.
