Theft of statues of two martyrs

Jaleshwar. Statues of two martyrs of Madhes movement have been stolen in Mahottari. The statues kept at Parikauli Chowk of Jaleshwor-Janakpur road section were stolen last night.

According to Prakash Bista, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Mahottari, the statues of Birendra Vichha of Jaleshwor Municipality-11 and Rajesh Thakur of Ward No. 9 were stolen.

Ward Chairman of Ward No. 9 Rabindra Yadav said that the Statues of the two were placed on a 5-7 feet high turret at Parikauli Chowk, a common chowk of Ward No. 11 and Ward No. 9.

Ward Chairman Yadav quoted locals as saying that Statues was in the chowk till 11/12 last night and expressed suspicion that the drinkers may have stolen the Statues.
