President Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina were present on the occasion.

Information about their recommendation was made public on Poush 5. Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota on Monday withdrew the appointment saying that the House of Representatives was dissolved for the parliamentary hearing as the government had sent information to the federal parliament on the recommendation of the government.

As per the constitutional provision, the appointment of the office bearers of the constitutional bodies must be approved by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee. However, there is a provision in the Rules of Procedure of the Federal Parliament that those recommended by the Constitutional Council will be automatically appointed if there is no parliamentary hearing within 45 days.
