Free driver’s eye and ear test
Jhapa. In order to reduce road accidents, free eye and ear tests have been conducted on 86 drivers.
A total of 35 people donated blood and tested the eyes and ears of 86 drivers in a program organized by Area Police Office Anarmani, District Traffic Police Office, Nepal Red Cross Society and Drishti Eye Hospital Birtamod in front of Hanuman Complex in Birtamod Municipality on Monday.
Due to the recent increase in road accidents in the district, the police has been conducting various awareness programs in collaboration with the community to reduce accidents.
Sanuram Bhattarai, Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Jhapa, said that the program was organized targeting the drivers as they had eye problems and deafness.
According to him, the doctor had given advice and suggestions to the driver who is deaf and has eye problems not to drive and for further treatment. Blood was donated by Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and local businessmen. Rasas
