Nabil Bank’s QR payment started in Kuleshwar’s fruit market

Kathmandu. Nabil Bank has started QR payment service in the fruit market of Kuleshwor, Kathmandu. Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari started QR payment service on Friday by purchasing fruits and paying through QR code.

Now, consumers going to the fruit market can easily pay for the purchased fruits through mobile banking application or mobile wallet, the bank said.

The bank has stated that the payment of QR code is fast and hassle free in cash and debit and credit card options. The bank has also stated that consumers have been attracted to this new service for the last time as it is fast and there is no charge for transactions.

At the event, Governor Adhikari said the QR code payment service is an innovative payment system that has grown especially due to the epidemic of covid, the last time such digital banking was needed.

Similarly, Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank Anil Keshari Shah said that in the last few years we have started to see innovation in the payment system in Nepal and as a result consumers are gradually shifting from cash to digital payments.
