Citizens Bank’s Visa contactless card service
Kathmandu. Citizens Bank has launched Visa Contactless Card. The card, based on Near Field Communication (NFC), can be used on NFC-enabled POS machines, the bank said.
With this technology, payment can be made by simply tapping the POS machine from a limited distance without inserting the card inside the machine. The technology is simple, intuitive and convenient to trade without touching anyone, the bank said.
As per the rules of NRB, transactions can be done with this technology even up to Rs 2,000 at a time.
Citizens Bank has been providing services from 109 branches, 98 ATMs and 107 branchless banking units. The bank, which has about seven lakh customers, has been providing modern banking services. According to the bank, it is fulfilling its financial needs digitally by making maximum use of the latest technology. To make it tangible, the bank can log in to the mobile banking app without using a check, scan the QR code at the counter, withdraw money from the account, scan and withdraw service, forget the mobile banking PIN number, go to the bank branch and reset the PIN from home without any hassle. To enhance digital banking, the bank has been providing free card, mobile banking and internet banking services. The Bank believes that this will help in the development of digital banking civilization.
