Travel bans will remain in place despite Trump’s order: Joe Biden
Kathmandu. A spokesman for US President-elect Joe Biden said the ban on travelers from the United States, the United Kingdom, some European Union countries and Brazil would not be lifted immediately.
Former President Donald Trump had earlier ordered the lifting of the travel ban. But on Saturday, the White House issued a directive stating that travel bans on travelers from the UK, some EU countries and Brazil would not be lifted until 26 days after Joe Biden took office.
However, a spokesman for Biden said it would not be appropriate to lift the ban at a time when tens of thousands of cases of Corona virus are on the rise. He also said that there were plans to reconsider the travel order linked to international travel to prevent the transition.
The United States has banned travel from European countries since March and Brazil in May. Although Trump’s order calls for the ban to be lifted on the 26th, the ban could be extended during Corona’s transition!
