Elderly man dies in Kalanki fire

Kathmandu. An old man has died in a fire in Khadka village in Kalanki of Kathmandu. Shivaram Khadka, 86, who was sleeping with a heater on at night, died in the blaze.

According to DSP Appil Bohara of Kalimati Police Circle, Khadka’s body was found burnt in a room on the second floor of his house. Family members learned of the blaze only after smelling it.

A team from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati has taken him to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
