We will give identity cards to farmers from February: Minister Aryal
Kathmandu. Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Padmakumari Aryal has said that the agriculture program will be distributed by classifying the farmers.
On Monday, she informed that she is preparing to distribute the classification identity card of the farmers in the first phase.
“We will complete the work of classifying the farmers and distributing identity cards. We will carry out the agricultural program in a systematic manner on the basis of classification.” The program will move forward rapidly from next February, ‘she said. Mentioning that the farmers’ commission set up for the welfare of the farmers will be empowered, she clarified that the commission formed for the welfare of the farmers cannot fulfill its objective only in the current situation.
Minister Aryal said that there is a need to modify the grant programs being distributed through the Ministry of Agriculture and some of the grant programs have to be discontinued.
Stating that the ministry has already started the work to prevent the farmers from facing shortage of manure and has given time till the end of January to send the demand of manure to the local level all over the country. – Rasas
