Election Commission’s proposal to publish voter list on 15 January.
Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday held discussions with the representatives of political parties on the preparations for the upcoming general elections to be held on April 3 and 4.
During the discussion, the commission has proposed to publish the voter list on January 3, spokesperson of the commission Raj Kumar Shrestha informed Makalu Khabar. “A program to update the voter list has started,” said spokesperson Shrestha. “Under that program, an update program is conducted from local to central.” In terms of updating, the list of all those local level voters will be published on January 30. Correction of any errors, removal of duplicate names, removal of false details, correction of details of deceased persons and displaced persons is done from 15 to 21. On the 15th, the voter list will be published at the local level center. ‘
Meanwhile, representatives of political parties said that the issue of polling stations was also discussed. Participating in the discussion, Dahal-Nepal-led CPN (Maoist) leader Rajendra Pandey said that the issue was discussed and suggested not to spend unnecessarily in the name of elections as there is no possibility of holding elections now.
After the dissolution of the House of Representatives in the last five months, President Bidyadevi Bhandari has fixed the date of the election for the next 17 and 27 Baishakh.
