Nepal-India Foreign Ministerial Meeting Begins
Kathmandu. The meeting of the Nepal-India Foreign Ministers’ Joint Commission has started at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
The three-day meeting will focus on Nepal-India bilateral relations as well as trade, energy, transit, co-operative cooperation, infrastructure, connectivity, investment, agriculture and tourism, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Pradip Gyawali and his Indian counterpart Jaishankar had met at the Hyderabad House. During the meeting, they discussed current political issues, according to Asian News International.
However, India has indicated that it will not discuss border issues. Before Gyawali’s arrival in India, Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, “Our position on the border dispute is clear. The JCM (Joint Commission) and the Boundary Negotiations are two separate mechanisms.
