Kathmandu. Magars living in the southern part of New Zealand have celebrated Maghe Sankranti with great pomp.
Asma Luitel, who runs a business in Kantipur, New Zealand, said that the South Island Magar community celebrated Maghe Sankranti with a formal program. Asma said that a special meal of Magar culture was also displayed at the event, which was organized with the main objective of preserving its culture on Drummond Oreti Road.
She said, “This program is also a proof that a Nepali will forget his culture wherever he goes.” The Magar community living here has specially celebrated Maghe Sankranti. We are also connected. Our connection with the Magar community also means that all Nepalis have the same mind and one Nepali is supported by another Nepali. ‘
More than 200 Nepalis participated in the program. According to the organizers, the Magar community celebrates every festival in the same way.
