KATHMANDU: Since last night, several districts in eastern Nepal have been experiencing varying degrees of rainfall, ranging from heavy to light.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, districts such as Siraha, Udayapur, Saptari, Dhankuta, Sunsari, Morang, and Jhapa are witnessing light to moderate rainfall.

The department has warned that additional rainfall could lead to sudden increases in the water levels of small rivers flowing through these areas.

Residents living in coastal regions are advised to exercise caution.

In the regions around the rainfall measurement centers of Garuda in Rautahat and Manusmara in Sarlahi, heavy rainfall has been recorded.

Due to this, the water levels in the Jhajha river and other small rivers flowing through these areas may rise.

The department has issued a warning for those residing in the coastal areas to remain alert.
