Youths attacked with khukuri near police office

KATHMANDU: Two youths were attacked with a khukuri (traditional Nepali knife) in Lamjung.

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Bhotteodar, near the District Police Office of Sundarbazar Municipality-9.

The victims of the khukuri attack are identified as Lilajang Gurung, 42, residing in Gaunda, Ward No. 6 of Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality, and Mangalraj Gurung, 40, residing in Ward No. 4 of Dordi Rural Municipality.

Lilajang Gurung sustained serious injuries in the upper part of his body, while Mangalraj Gurung received general injuries.

Lilajang Gurung was initially treated at the Bhotteodar Hospital and then referred to Chitwan for further treatment.

Mangalraj Gurung has been discharged after receiving general treatment.

The police have taken four individuals under control on suspicion of their involvement in the incident.

The individuals under control are identified as Keshav Ghale, 30, from Balune Tole, Ward No. 9 of Sundarbazar Municipality; Bhimsen Gurung, 36, from Pachowk, Ward No. 5 of Dordi Rural Municipality; Purna Bahadur Tamang, 31, from Tanje, Ward No. 6 of Dordi Rural Municipality; and Praveen Gurung, 38, from Lapsibot, Ward No. 7 of Dordi Rural Municipality.
