KATHMANDU: Bangladeshi fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been penalized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for his contentious behavior during the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup match against Nepal.

Tanzim will now have to pay a fine of 15% of his match fee.
He had been aggressive towards Nepal’s captain Rohit Paudel after the third over of the match.
The ICC stated that Tanzim, after the third over, approached Rohit Paudel aggressively and made physical contact in an inappropriate manner.
The incident led to the umpire summoning Bangladeshi captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and making remarks. Supporters have been criticizing Tanzim’s behavior on social media, alleging that he sought unnecessary controversy with Rohit.
However, Rohit responded that there was no major altercation with him.
In the match, Nepal was defeated by 21 runs.
