KATHMANDU: CPN-UML MP Achyut Prasad Mainali has drawn the government’s attention to the increasing incidents of murders in the Madhesh State.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, he expressed concern over the rising number of daylight murders in various districts of Madhesh State and emphasized the need for the government to address the issue.
He attributed the significant increase in murder cases to the open border with India, which facilitates entry for shooters and other criminals who commit murders in Nepal. He urged the government to take necessary measures to curb these incidents and to ensure that criminals are swiftly brought to justice.
Mainali also stressed the importance of coordinating with the authorities across the border to enhance administrative efforts in controlling such crimes.
