RSP urged to ensure timely fertilizer distribution to farmers

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has demanded from the government to provide chemical fertilizers to the farmers on time.

The chief whip of the party, Santosh Pariyar, made such a demand while speaking at the zero hour of the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday.

He said that the government is not short of fertilizer, but farmers are not getting more than 10 kg of fertilizer. He said that the farmers of Bhaktapur, including the agricultural crops of Bhaktapur Thimi and Bode, did not get more than 10 kg of fertilizer.

He said that even though there is no shortage of fertilizer, the government is not getting fertilizer in the market and demanded that the government immediately provide fertilizer to the farmers.

He drew the serious attention of the government saying that there is a situation where farmers can get as much as they can by buying fertilizers through the black market.

He said that in order to increase agricultural production, it is necessary for farmers to manage fertilizers in time.
