KATHMANDU: Six people lost their lives on Monday in Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province when a gas tanker collided with a car, according to the motorway police.

The accident occurred in the vicinity of Chakwal district, where both vehicles plunged into a ravine following the collision, the police reported.

A fire broke out in the tanker but was extinguished promptly.

Authorities stated that the crash was due to the tanker’s brakes failing. “The brake failure led the vehicle to crash into the median wall on the road and subsequently collide with the oncoming car,” the statement explained.
