KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress MP Dr. Sunil Sharma has expressed outrage over the situation where 14 mules got trapped in the bridge’s deck made of steel mesh while crossing Karnali River this morning.

He criticized the government for its inability to repair the bridge, stating that instead of fixing the bridge, the government is busy changing the country’s emblem.

He also questioned on social media when the Nepali people would finally raise their voices against the policies of the Prachanda-led government.

He stated, “The Prachanda government says they can’t repair the bridge, but says to change the country’s emblem. When will we, the Nepali people, finally stand up against this?”

The incident occurred when a deck of the bridge on the suspension bridge, connecting Panchadeval Binayak Municipality-9 in Achham to Khidikijula Municipality-6 in Dailekh, trapped 14 mules in the middle section of the bridge.

Nine of the trapped mules were rescued, but unfortunately, two of them died.
