KATHMANDU: West Indies secured a remarkable victory in the ICC T20 World Cup cricket. In today’s Group ‘C’ match, West Indies achieved a stunning win as Uganda was bowled out for just 39 runs while chasing a target of 174.

Uganda’s innings collapsed in just 12 overs, with no player managing to put up a significant performance except for Juma Miyagi, who was the only player to reach double figures. This poor performance led to a heavy defeat for Uganda.

West Indies’ Akil Hosein was the standout bowler, taking 5 wickets for just 11 runs. Alzarri Joseph contributed with 2 wickets, while Romario Shepherd, Andre Russell, and Gudakesh Motie each took 1 wicket.

Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, West Indies scored 173 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Johnson Charles was the top scorer with 44 runs, followed by Andre Russell with 30 runs. Rovman Powell added 23 runs, while Nicholas Pooran and Sherfane Rutherford both contributed 22 runs each.

For Uganda, captain Brian Masaba took 2 wickets, while Dinesh Nakrani, Cosmas Kyewuta, and Alpesh Ramjani each claimed 1 wicket.

So far, Uganda has won only one out of their three matches, whereas West Indies has emerged victorious in both of their two matches.
