Foreign Secretary Lamsal departing for St. John’s

KATHMANDU: Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal is departing today for St. John’s, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda, to attend the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States organized by the United Nations from May 27 to 30.

During the conference, she will deliver a statement on behalf of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) group in her capacity as the chair of the global coordination bureau for the group.

The Ministry has announced that Foreign Secretary Lamsal will also have various bilateral meetings during the conference.

The conference, held every ten years, aims to review the progress of small island developing states in sustainable development and propose a new decade’s action plan.

The fourth conference, held under the theme “Charting the Way Towards Resilient Prosperity,” will focus on these objectives. Foreign Secretary Lamsal is scheduled to return to Nepal on June 1.
