Tribhuvan Airport closes for one hour

Both domestic and international flights have been suspended.

KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) was closed for one hour after a pothole was discovered on runway 02, according to airport spokesperson Subash Jha, who informed Makalu Khabar.

“A pothole was found on the runway. Maintenance work is underway,” he stated. “Therefore, we have closed the airport for one hour.”

Both domestic and international flights have been suspended.

Several incoming flights to Kathmandu are currently on hold, including Thai Airways from Bangkok and Malaysia Airlines from Kuala Lumpur.

Domestically, flights from Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, and Shree Airlines are also in holding patterns.
