KATHMANDU: In a joint session of the Federal Parliament, President Ram Chandra Paudel presented the Nepal government’s annual policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2081/82.
The session commenced with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ submitting the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year to President Paudel.
It is a customary practice for the President to present the annual policy and program of the government to both houses of the Federal Parliament prior to the annual budget announcement.
The government has declared the fiscal year 2081/82 as the Decade of Investment in Agriculture.
Additionally, it has announced the intention to conduct an in-country rating in the upcoming fiscal year.
In collaboration with the private sector, the government aims to promote animal husbandry by establishing animal hospitals in every local unit.
Moreover, the government has pledged to provide land to 500,000 landless individuals across the country.
It also plans to formulate policies related to land use and enhance cooperation among the three levels of government to maximize benefits from land resources.
The government has also announced a program to provide concessional loans to 1,000 young entrepreneurs to start their own businesses in the upcoming fiscal year.
