National Assembly member Shakya takes oath

KATHMANDU: National Assembly mnember Dr. Anjan Shakya has taken the oath of office.

During a ceremony held at Singha Durbar on Sunday, in the presence of the National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, she assumed the responsibilities and confidentiality oath.

Shakya was appointed as a member of the National Assembly on April 18 by President Ram Chandra Paudel, upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

Furthermore, amidst congratulatory messages from the National Assembly Chair Dahal, Shakya was praised.

On this occasion, members of the National Assembly and staff from the Parliament Secretariat also extended their felicitations.

During the oath-taking, MP Shakya expressed his commitment to work with honesty for the country and the people’s welfare.

She stated, “Now, my role means I will work especially for the country and the people. That’s why I pledge to dedicate all my current efforts honestly for the benefit of the country and the people.”

She also expressed his determination to elevate the dignity of the National Assembly.

Shakya, a member of the Foreign Affairs Department of the CPN (UML), previously served as a member of the National Planning Commission during the tenure of the former KP Sharma Oli-led government.
