Nepal suffer defeat against West Indies ‘A’ by 10 runs

KATHMANDU: Despite captain Rohit Paudel’s half-century, Nepal lost to West Indies A by a narrow margin.

Rohit, who gave the team an important victory by hitting a century in the first match, managed the team by hitting a half-century in the second match, but the team failed to avoid defeat due to lack of a strong partner.

After completing the target of 205 runs in the first match, Nepal failed to score 161 runs in the second match.

Nepal could score 150 runs for the loss of 9 wickets by playing the entire over.

For Nepal, Lokash Bam scored 17 runs, Kushal Bhurtel scored 2 runs and Anil Sah scored one run.

Gulshan Jha contributed 26 runs and Aarif Sheikh contributed 12 runs when Kushal Malla returned to the pavilion for zero runs.

Dipendra Singh Airee and Sompal Kami scored 3 runs each and Aakash Chand scored 7 runs.

Obed McCoy and Gudakesh Motie of West Indies took 2 wickets each while Osain Thomas and Roston Chase took 1 wicket each. He ran out three other Nepali batters.

West Indies A, who are visiting Nepal for the T20 series, won the toss and batted first. Scored 160 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

After a bad start, West Indies have presented a moderate target by adding 41 runs in the last two overs. That set him up for victory.

After adding 19 runs in the 19th over, West Indies added 22 runs in the last over. Gudakesh Motie of West Indies remained not out scoring 33 runs in only 8 balls. Matthew Ford added 11 runs off 6 balls.
