‘Walking cooler’ installed to improve vaccines storage capacity
Supply and distribution of anti-COVID-19 vaccination was a big challenge due to low capacity for storing vaccines.
BAGLUNG: MAY. 5 – ‘Walking Cooler’ has been installed at the district health office to increase vaccine storage capacity.
Director of Gandaki State Health Directorate Khm Bahadur Khadka inaugurated the cooler amidst a programme on Wednesday, The cooler which was built with the financial assistance of the Ministry of Health and Population has 10 refrigerators.
It may be noted that the supply and distribution of anti-COVID-19 vaccination was a big challenge due to low capacity for storing vaccines.
The added capacity would be enough to store the vaccines required for Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi and Mustang districts, Director Khadka added. “It would help make the vaccination service effective”, he said.
With this four walking coolers have come into operation in Gandaki State, Khadka informed. Vaccines required for the five million population can be stored.
