KATHMANDU: The Nepali film ‘University of Gundas’, first announced in Magh 2080 BS, has officially moved into production, with its first-look teaser unveiled on YouTube on Tuesday alongside details of the cast, crew, and storyline.

The teaser, which emphasizes action as its core theme, hints at a storyline centered on gang violence among students within a college setting.

It features lead actors Salinman Baniya and Salon Basnet engaged in intense confrontations with rival groups, showcasing a stylized action presentation that draws comparisons to Korean drama aesthetics.

Marking his comeback after nearly seven years, Salinman Baniya’s character has been introduced with the tagline “a storm after silence,” positioning him as a “stylish star” in the film’s promotional material.

The film’s story is also written by Baniya himself.

The project will be directed by Suresh Neupane, known for his earlier film ‘Rangi’.

While the lead roles are confirmed for Baniya and Basnet, the rest of the cast has not yet been officially announced.

However, sources suggest that actor Anmol K.C. may appear in a special role.

Produced under Salon Basnet’s production banner Sanvi Entertainment, the film brings together a technical team including Roman Bajracharya for background score, Saurav Lama for cinematography, Bande Prasad for editing, Manoj Shrestha for VFX, and Rajendra Moktan for color grading.

The screenplay and dialogues are written by Mandip Gautam.
