Unclaimed body found in Panaha Khola identified as 34-year-old man from Tamghas
The deceased’s father, Krishna Prasad Pokharel, confirmed the identity on Friday.
KATHMANDU: The unclaimed body discovered 14 days ago in Panaha Khola, on the border of Resunga Municipality and Isma Rural Municipality, has been identified as 34-year-old Manoj Pokharel from Resunga-1, Tamghas.
According to Chief of Gulmi District Police, Superintendent Narayan Prasad Adhikari, the deceased’s father, Krishna Prasad Pokharel, confirmed the identity on Friday.
Manoj had been missing since Mangsir 14 and was reported to have mild intellectual disability.
The body, which was found floating face-down with the back visible in the frozen river, has been kept in a mortuary refrigerator and is currently undergoing post-mortem examination.
Authorities had coordinated with neighboring districts including Baglung, Pyuthan, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Syangja, and Parbat to trace the missing man, and his local residence in Tamghas was eventually confirmed.
