Two missing in Parshuram Municipality; search underway
Police said both went out of contact from Friday and are believed to be maternal uncle and nephew.
DADELDHURA: Two people, including an Armed Police Force (APF) personnel, have gone missing from Parashuram Municipality–5, prompting an active search operation along the Mahakali River.
According to the District Police Office Dadeldhura, the missing individuals are APF constable Omprakash Pun Magar, stationed at the Border Out Post in Perigaun, and 56-year-old local resident Tirtha Bahadur Thapa Magar.
Police said both went out of contact from Friday and are believed to be maternal uncle and nephew.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Barun Bahadur Singh stated that a tube used by them was found near the Mahakali River bank, raising fears that the river current may have swept them away. Search and rescue efforts have been intensified with the support of security personnel.
The Armed Police Force Nepal has also joined the operation as authorities continue efforts to trace the missing duo.
