Top leaders express condolences over death of Oli’s father

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s major political figures have expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mohan Prasad Oli, father of CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli. Mohan Prasad Oli passed away this morning at the age of 97.

Leaders from both the Nepali Congress and the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) conveyed their condolences. Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa and former President Sher Bahadur Deuba, along with NCP Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Co-Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal, were among the prominent leaders to express grief.

President Thapa said, “I offer heartfelt condolences and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul. I also extend my deepest sympathies to the bereaved family during this difficult time.”

Former Congress President Deuba added that the news of Mohan Prasad Oli’s death has caused profound sorrow and wished peace for the departed soul while expressing sympathy to the grieving family.

NCP Chairperson Prachanda, who visited Oli following the news, said, “I pay my heartfelt respects to the late father and convey deep sympathy to KP Oli and his grieving family.”

Similarly, NCP Co-Chairperson Madhav Nepal extended heartfelt tributes to the late Mohan Prasad Oli and expressed deep condolences to KP Oli and his family during their time of bereavement.
