Talks between sports minister & Nepal Scout protesters end in failure

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Scout Purification Campaign and the meeting between Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary have ended without any conclusion.
On Friday, a discussion took place between the protesting group and the sports minister at the ministry.
However, the talks ended without any agreement.
The failure of the discussion occurred when Minister Chaudhary showed reluctance to listen to the concerns of the protesting group.
The sports minister urged the protesting party to halt their protest unconditionally. However, the protestors remained firm on their demand to have their issues addressed.
According to sources, the discussion became heated when the minister tried to push the protestors aside instead of facilitating the dialogue.
The talks failed after the sports minister took a stance in favor of the accused executive director of Nepal Scout, Ram Prasad Bhattarai.
An activist involved in the discussions shared that the failure of the talks stemmed from this position.
The purification campaign has been carrying out a relay hunger strike, putting forward a four-point demand, in an effort to save Nepal Scout.
