KATHMANDU: Violence broke out once again during a monarchist protest at Tinkune, Kathmandu, as protesters clashed with the police.

The demonstrators attempted to break through police barricades to march towards Baneshwor, but tensions escalated when the police tried to stop them at Tinkune.

In response to the protests, the police deployed tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd.

Despite this, the protesters managed to break through the first police barricade, and law enforcement is now preparing to prevent any further attempts to breach the second line of defense.

The protesters, who are advocating for the reinstatement of the monarchy, claim that life has become increasingly difficult for the people since the establishment of the Republic.

They are demanding the restoration of the monarchy and the establishment of a Hindu monarchy in Nepal.

The protest is being led by medical professional Durga Prasai, under the banner of the “Nation, Nationalism, Religion, Culture, and Citizens’ Protection Campaign,” along with Nawaraj Subedi, who is heading the “Joint People’s Movement Committee for the Restoration of the Monarchy.”

The local administration has allowed both groups to hold their protests at Three-Kune, despite the rising tensions.
