Shooting of dark comedy movie ‘Zero Degree’ begins in Pokhara
The film’s entire shoot is set to take place in the scenic and authentic villages of Armalakot and Dhital in Kaski district, with a shooting schedule planned for 35 days.
KATHMANDU: The shooting of the Nepali film ‘Zero Degree’ has formally begun at the Armalakot Temple in Pokhara Metropolitan City-16, marking an auspicious time.
Produced under the banner of Meghauli Films, this dark comedy officially rolled its first shot with veteran actor Prakash Ghimire, actors Bijay Baral, storyteller and actor Rajan Bhusal, and Sharada Silwal in key roles.

The story of ‘Zero Degree’ is being hailed as unique and engaging within the Nepali film industry. Set in a remote village with limited road access, the plot revolves around a situation where, after the death of parents, children living abroad fail to return home.
To preserve the bodies, villagers carry a “deep freeze” uphill, leading to a series of chaotic and humorous events.
The film is jointly directed and scripted by Aakash Baral and Sajan Kafle, generating significant anticipation among audiences even before principal shooting began. Prior to filming, the satirical song ‘Aree Ho Neta Ji’ was released, further boosting curiosity.
The film features a strong ensemble cast. Alongside stage actors Bjay Baral and Sanisha Bhattarai, seasoned performers Basundhara Bhusal and Ramesh Budhathoki will appear on screen.

The lineup also includes Prakash Ghimire, Lokendra Lekhak, Rajan Bhusal, Sanju Rasaili, Pravesh Mahtara Kshetri, Sharda Silwal, Sabina Thapa Kshetri, Ram Babu Regmi, Subash Gajurel, and Basu Khanal. Casting was handled by Sanju Rasaili.
Moti Karki serves as the executive producer, with cinematography by Nishal Paudel. Editing is by Chansa Pun Magar, and color coordination by Rajendra Moktan.
The film’s music is composed by Ankit Babu Adhikari, with lyrics penned by Yubaraj Kafle. Publicity design is managed by Royal Bhimsen and the Trident Concept Team, while Kuber Cine Distribution will handle releases outside the Kathmandu Valley and DCine will manage distribution within the valley.
