KATHMANDU: Actor Bijay Baral has been injured during the shoot of the upcoming film Sindure Jatra.

The incident occurred on Wednesday in Arthar Dandakharka village of Kushma Municipality–14 in Parbat district, where he lost balance while riding a horse for a scene, injuring his right hand.

Following the accident, Baral was given initial treatment at the provincial hospital in Kushma and later transferred to Metro City Hospital in Pokhara.

X-ray results confirmed a fracture, after which his hand was put in a plaster. Doctors have advised him to rest for at least 40 days.

Due to his injury, the film’s shooting has been completely halted for now.

The production team, led by director Saroj Paudel, plans to resume filming after June 29 once Baral’s plaster is removed and he recovers sufficiently.

Baral stated that he will return to work after a few weeks of rest, though some adjustments may be required in other film schedules.

Sarang Films produce the film and also stars Anjana Baraili, Binod Neupane, former Miss Nepal Usha Khadgi, Bholaraj Sapkota, and Lokendra Lekhak.

Baral and Anjana previously appeared together in the record-breaking film Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi.
