KATHMANDU: Police have rescued Shobha Pathak after she went out of contact following the posting of an emotional video on Facebook that raised concerns among the public.

According to Kathmandu District Police Range spokesperson SP Pawan Bhattarai, Pathak was located and rescued from the Banasthali area of Kathmandu on Sunday morning.

Pathak had shared a video on social media late Saturday night in which she appeared visibly emotional while a melancholic song played in the background. The post quickly drew widespread attention and concern regarding her well-being.

Police said she was found at around 9:15 a.m. on Sunday and was subsequently taken to Manmohan Hospital for psychosocial counseling and a health assessment.

SP Bhattarai said authorities are continuing to gather information about the incident and ensure that appropriate support and counseling are provided. Family members have also been contacted and involved in the process.

Pathak had recently been publicly advocating for legal action against Nepali politician Mahesh Basnet.

Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident, but confirmed that Pathak is safe and receiving necessary care.
