KATHMANDU: The second installment of this year’s highest-grossing Nepali film, Aa Bata Aama, is officially underway.

Bipana Thapa and Paul Shah, the lead actors from the first film, have already been confirmed for the sequel.
Actor Aakash Shrestha has now joined the project, taking on a key role after director Chandra Panta found him a perfect fit for the story and character.
Panta hinted that with Aakash’s inclusion, the narrative will take a fresh direction compared to the first film, though production details remain under wraps.
Aside from Bipana, Paul, and Aakash, no other cast members have been finalized.
The original film featured actors Simran Panta, Usha Upreti, and Saigrace Pokharel in prominent roles, with Usha reportedly set to reprise her part opposite Paul Shah.
Produced under the Arya Entertainment banner, the film is both written and directed by Panta, who also serves as the producer.
The team is aiming for a release during the upcoming Dashain festival.
The first Aa Bata Aama grossed over Rs 130 million domestically, raising high expectations for the sequel among audiences.
