SC issues interim order to halt Pathibhara Cable Car project

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to maintain the status quo on the construction of the cable car in Pathibhara.

On Sunday, after a preliminary hearing on the writ petition filed by Yam Bahadur Limbu and others, the Court decided to keep all activities related to the project on hold until a final decision is made on the interim order.
Limbu and others had filed a petition demanding that the construction of the cable car in Pathibhara be stopped, seeking the annulment of the decision and all related activities.
Last Wednesday, a bench led by Justice Sharanga Suvedi had summoned both parties for a hearing on April 7, stating that given the serious nature of the issues raised in the petition, it would be appropriate to discuss and decide on the interim order after hearing both sides.
