RSP Chief warns of street protests over visit visa inquiry
Lingden stated that until their demand is addressed, they will continue obstructing parliamentary proceedings and, if necessary, may join hands with the RSP to take their protest to the streets.
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Rajendra Lingden has warned that his party may be forced to launch street protests if the government fails to form a high-level commission to investigate the visit visa controversy.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday in Jhapa, Lingden stated that until their demand is addressed, they will continue obstructing parliamentary proceedings and, if necessary, may join hands with the RSP to take their protest to the streets.
He also expressed dissatisfaction with Speaker Devraj Ghimire, criticizing the handling of parliamentary disruptions despite their repeated efforts to block sessions.
Lingden voiced strong frustration over the government’s alleged neglect of their demands and reiterated that Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak should resign to facilitate a smooth investigation into the issue.
On a separate note, Lingden acknowledged minor errors in assigning responsibilities to new party members, stating that he is ready to correct them and move forward.
