KATHMANDU: Senior Vice Chair of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rabindra Mishra, has expressed strong confidence that he will win the upcoming election.
Mishra made the remarks on Tuesday while filing his candidacy for Kathmandu Constituency No. 1.
Drawing inspiration from King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the architect of modern Nepal, Mishra said he is committed to following the same path to both protect and develop the country.
He expressed certainty that the people of Kathmandu would elect him as a representative they could be proud of.
Acknowledging his narrow defeat in the previous election in the same constituency, Mishra vowed to make a historic comeback this time. “I am inspired by Prithvi Narayan Shah, who won Kathmandu three times. I aim to secure a third victory in Kathmandu-1. Just as Shah built and shaped the nation, I will work to protect and develop Nepal. I am confident that the people of this constituency will consider me a representative they can truly take pride in,” he said.
Mishra also reiterated his party’s stance that a governance system including the monarchy is necessary to safeguard the nation from crises.
