KATHMANDU: Dhurva Bahadur Pradhan, vice-chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and former lawmaker, has filed his nomination for the upcoming House of Representatives election from Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West)-2 for the polls scheduled on Falgun 21.

Pradhan, who won the same constituency in the 2022 election, has been given a ticket by the RPP from his traditional stronghold.

The party has finalized candidates in over 160 of the country’s 165 constituencies.

Following the Election Commission’s schedule, candidates across the nation are registering their nominations.

Alongside Pradhan, other RPP candidates are completing the nomination process in their respective constituencies.

In Nawalparasi-2, Pradhan is expected to face stiff competition from candidates representing the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

In the 2022 election, he had defeated Nepali Congress’ Devendra Raj Kandel.

The RPP, which prominently advocates for the reinstatement of the monarchy and a Hindu nation agenda, has intensified political activity in Lumbini Province with Pradhan’s candidacy.
