Rossington bags Presidential Platinum Cap, wins Rs 50K for most runs in NPL

KATHMANDU: Pokhara Avengers’ batsman Adam Rossington, the highest run-scorer of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2, has been awarded the Presidential Platinum Cap along with an additional Rs 50,000 cash prize.
The honor was presented by Presidential Graduate School, recognizing Rosington’s outstanding batting performance.
In his absence, the award cheque was handed over through Subash Khakurel, assistant coach of Lumbini Lions.
Playing for Pokhara Avengers, Rossington scored 323 runs in 7 matches, making him the tournament’s top scorer.
Despite Pokhara’s early exit in the league stage, Rossington delivered impressive performances, including one century and two half-centuries.
Based in Thapagaun, Baneshwor, Kathmandu, and affiliated with the University of Westcliff, USA, Presidential Graduate School has been awarding the Platinum Cap to the highest run-scorer of each NPL match.
The award is presented in collaboration with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
During the tournament, besides Rosington, Mark Watt and Ravi Bopara also wore the Platinum Cap.
At the conclusion of the competition, Rosington emerged as the overall highest run-scorer.
As an official education partner of the NPL since its inception, the college awarded Rosington the Platinum Cap along with a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
President of the college, Laxman KC, highlighted that Presidential Graduate School has been providing undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Management for 15 years and IT for 5 years.
Emphasizing the role of sports in boosting youth potential and morale, KC noted that special programs and awards through the NPL aim to further inspire players.
