KATHMANDU: Advance ticket booking for the upcoming Nepali film ‘Roll No 1’, produced by the team behind ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’, has officially opened across major multiplex chains, including QFX Cinemas.

On its opening day, QFX has allocated 16 shows inside Kathmandu Valley and 19 shows outside the Valley (excluding Damauli).

Similarly, INI Cinemas has scheduled 18 shows across its six branches, while One Cinemas and Big Movies have allotted 5 and 4 shows respectively.

According to distributors Richa Entertainment and FD Company, the film has secured around 150 shows nationwide. However, final scheduling in some Valley and provincial theaters is still being updated, with full details expected by later in the day.

Set against the tagline “A Story of Every Student,” ‘Roll No 1’ will hit theaters nationwide this Friday. Directed by John Yonjan, the film features Mukun Bhusal, Sushank Mainali, Renu Yogi, Avan Raj Upreti, and Srijana Adhikari in lead roles.

The film also includes child actors Nirvik Regmi, Rinchen Lama, Samyam Katwal, and Sijal Shrestha.

The cast has actively promoted the film across Nepal, visiting schools nationwide to engage with students and share the film’s message.

The promotional tour began in Jhapa in eastern Nepal and concluded in Nepalgunj in the west, with the team now preparing for additional audience interactions at theaters.

The Central Film Censorship Committee reportedly praised the film during the grading process, according to the production team, which has boosted their confidence ahead of release.

With strong early buzz, the makers believe ‘Roll No 1’ could receive positive word-of-mouth similar to the success of ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi’.

The film is produced by Binod Paudel and Janvi Paudel, with Chhatramaya Giri and Ramesh Chaulagain as co-producers. The screenplay is written by Mahesh Dawadi, and cinematography is handled by Shivaram Shrestha.
