KATHMANDU: In Kathmandu today, monarchist and socialist groups are holding separate demonstrations.

The monarchists will gather at Tinkune in the afternoon, while the socialist factions, including the CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand, and the Nepal Socialist Party led by Mahindra Rai Yadav, will rally at Bhirkutimandap. Both sides are preparing to demonstrate against each other.

In anticipation of these protests, security measures have been intensified across the city.

Police checkpoints have been set up at various locations, and traffic has been restricted in several areas, including the road from Tripureshwar to Ratnapark.

Other parts of the city are also under heavy surveillance to ensure the safety of the public.

The socialist alliance claims to mobilize over 100,000 people for their protest, viewing the rally as a show of strength.

Both sides are preparing for their demonstrations, which are expected to escalate into a display of power and political influence.
