KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, who is currently in Nakkhu Prison in connection with the cooperative fraud case, has expressed solidarity with today’s planned ‘Gen Z’ protest.

In a message sent through his private secretariat, Lamichhane called on young people to take to the streets with awareness and prudence.

He highlighted that this could be the first-ever street movement led by Gen Z in Nepal, adding that the ruling establishment has failed to ensure governance based on justice and reason while even snatching away the small digital space where youths voiced their concerns.

“Drunk on power and blinded by arrogance and vengeance, the rulers do not realize that your conscience and passion hold the strength to change the course of this country’s history,” Lamichhane said. “Tomorrow marks the beginning of a new chapter in history.”

Warning of possible infiltration in the protest, he urged demonstrators to remain alert and not be provoked. “Your history, as well as the nation’s history, is being written by your own hands,” his message concluded.
