KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), was accorded a grand welcome at the party’s central office in Banasthali, Kathmandu, with enthusiastic supporters and party workers gathering to greet him.

Lamichhane arrived in Kathmandu yesterday after being released from Bhairahawa prison.

At the central office on Sunday, he addressed party members and well-wishers, raising critical questions about parliamentary proceedings and governance.

“I hear there’s a race to restore parliament. Which parliament are we talking about? Which parliament are we trying to awaken? Are we trying to wake a parliament that cuts the microphone while the people’s issues are being raised?” Lamichhane asked, urging vigilance against conspiracies.

He further cautioned, “Keep the eyes of conspiracy closed. Don’t let too many eyes blink,” signaling his intent to challenge opaque political maneuvers.

Lamichhane emphasized that change cannot be limited to mere institutions. “Building Singha Durbar is not enough. It must be transformed. Damaged structures are not only to be rebuilt but also reformed. We need to act to complete the contributions made by the Gen Z movement,” he said.
