Bhatta, last seen in the 2016 film Brindavan, is re-entering the big screen through the upcoming project 12 Gaun 2, directed by actor-filmmaker Biraj Bhatta.
KATHMANDU: Veteran Nepali actor and once-popular screen villain Pushkar Bhatta has returned to the film industry after a decade-long break, joining the growing wave of classic actors making a comeback in Nepali cinema.
Bhatta, last seen in the 2016 film Brindavan, is re-entering the big screen through the upcoming project 12 Gaun 2, directed by actor-filmmaker Biraj Bhatta.
He is expected to reprise a negative role, a character type that once defined his strong screen presence and popularity.
The film also brings a special reunion, as Biraj Bhatta and Pushkar Bhatta collaborate again after nearly 15 years.
The duo previously worked together in several hit films including Aafno Manche Aafnai Hunchha, Prahar, Biratako Chino, Sindur, Rakshak, and Bhagi Bhagi Najau, where Bhatt often portrayed powerful antagonist roles.
After moving to Canada around a decade ago, Bhatta had largely stayed away from mainstream cinema, occasionally appearing in music videos.
Now back in Nepal, he is preparing to re-establish his acting career, with plans to work in another film following 12 Gaun 2.
