Protest demands repeal of CAAN Bill, 2081
The protesters expressed concerns over the potential privatization of the country’s airspace and demanded an immediate halt to any such privatization.
KATHMANDU: A protest was held on Wednesday in front of the headquarters of the Civil Aviation Authority Nepal (CAAN) in Sinamangal, Kathmandu.
The demonstration was organized by the official trade union and employees of the CAAN, who called for the immediate repeal of the Civil Aviation Authority Nepal Bill, 2081, and the Nepal Air Service Authority Bill, 2081.
The protesters expressed concerns over the potential privatization of the country’s airspace and demanded an immediate halt to any such privatization.
Holding placards with slogans such as “Beware of Air Mafias,” “Repeal the National Traitor Bill that Divides the Civil Aviation Authority,” “Stop Privatization of the Airspace,” and “End the Chain of Imposing Bills,” the protesters made their voices heard in a show of solidarity against the proposed legislative changes.
