Pooja Sharma joins star-studded cast of ‘Maharajdhiraj’

KATHMANDU: Actor Pooja Sharma has officially joined the upcoming film Maharajdhiraj, taking on a lead role as the production builds a strong, commercially appealing cast.

Actor Hemanta Budhathoki has also been signed this week, with casting now nearing completion.
Previously, on the occasion of the Nepali New Year, Pushpa Khadka was confirmed in a leading role, alongside the release of the film’s first poster.
Directed by Parichhed Sen, Maharajdhiraj is described as a period drama and is set to go on floors after the second week of Baisakh.
The film is Sen’s ambitious dream project and will feature an ensemble of around 80 actors, blending veterans and new-generation performers.
The cast also includes prominent names such as Neer Shah, Aryan Sigdel, Ramesh Upreti, Usha Rajak, Hiu Bala Gautam, Jay Kishan Basnet, Shishir Bhandari, Gajit Bista, and Asha Poudel.
Presenter Biraj Bista expressed confidence that the film’s strong lineup will translate into a powerful cinematic output.
Produced under the banner of Chhatreshwar Management Pvt. Ltd., the film is written by director Sen himself.
Producers include Rabi Khadka, Shivraj Poudel, and Topendra Bista, while cinematography will be handled by Nabaraj Thapa.
Filming is set to begin in Sunsari’s Sri Lanka Tapu, followed by shoots across historic and scenic locations in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Kirtipur.
Maharajdhiraj is slated for a nationwide release during the Fulpati festival of Dashain.
