KATHMANDU: Shankar Pokharel, General Secretary of the CPN-UML, has urged people to revive social traditions that have been overshadowed by social media.
He described the temporary shutdown of social media platforms as a “pleasant experience.”
Officials from the Ministry of Communications stated that the government will begin deactivating social media platforms that have not been registered.
Major platforms such as Facebook and YouTube were given a one-week window, starting from Bhadra 9, to complete registration, which has now expired.
Pokharel, a former Communications Minister, wrote on Facebook: “Until social media reopens, let us try to restore the good social traditions that it has disrupted. It will be a pleasant experience.”
