PM Oli departs for China to attend SCO Summit (photos)

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has departed for Tianjin, China, on a special flight to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
During his visit, Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral meetings with several world leaders.
He will address the SCO Plus Summit on Bhadra 16, where the presence of global leaders is expected to highlight Nepal’s role on the international stage.
According to the official itinerary, Prime Minister Oli will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin.
This meeting is expected to add a new dimension to Nepal–China relations.
In addition, he will hold bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of government of six other countries, focusing on areas such as trade, investment, technology, and cultural exchange.
The Prime Minister’s delegation includes his spouse Radhika Shakya; former Deputy Prime Minister and Member of Parliament Purna Bahadur Khadka; Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuj Panta; Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey; former Minister and PM’s Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada; former Minister and Member of Parliament Chhabilal Bishwakarma; along with senior government officials.
This high-level visit is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Nepal’s foreign policy and enhancing its international presence.
Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to return to Nepal on Bhadra 18 at 10:30 p.m.
